Roll Tide! Shop the ‘Bama Rush TikTok trend for 2022

are you ready to rush

If you’re a student at the University of Alabama, you’ve been ready for weeks. On the other hand, if you’ve been on TikTok, you may also be willing to commit.

Last year, the hashtag #bamarush exploded on the popular video platform, and college students from Alabama and other universities, mostly from the South, shared their outfits of the day (or #OOTD for short) as well as what was packed in their overflowing bag to slep from door to door during peak week.

This year is no different with these videos exploding across the country. So much so that many TikTok users parodied the trend, creating songs and other trending hashtags, and some users became so invested in the journeys of certain sorority vows that they became influencers themselves.

For the 2022 rush season, we saw the same huge wave, the Crimson Tide, as the first week of the 2022 Alabama Rush begins. After the first week of planning, occupied by current sorority members, the main rush event arrives with outfits, bags and heels galore before the final bidding day and infamous “door chants” galore.

In the meantime, get your shopping bag ready and visit the Kendra Scott and Shein websites because we have a fraternity-approved shopping list for you. Ready to support the New York Post? Then read on for our recommendations.

Shop the trend: must-have brands and products inspired by #bamarushtok 2022

1.Kendra Scott

If your jewelry isn’t “Regular” or “Meemaw” then it’s 100% Kendra Scott. This running joke was a reality for ‘Bama Rush as the one and only Kendra Scott broke into the trend herself on her own TikTok. Some of the most popular gemstones include the Elisa necklace with a gold pendant, the matching gold Elle earrings and all in Panhellenic colours.

2. Monogrammed Tote Bag

What’s in your rush bag? But also, which one is your rush bag? To stand out, be sure to grab a bag with your name or monogram on it. We love this simple one letter tote from Amazon that comes with a cute bow, but you can also shop the classic LL Bean Boat and Tote.

3. Rush dresses from Lulu’s

Lulus was also a main character for Rush 2021, so they were prepared for this year. Visit the site now and you will see an entire category for sorority rush dresses, with options for Philanthropy Day, Bid Day and more. They also have cute college clothes perfect for back to school.

4. Skirts and skorts

For days when you need to wear your Panhellenic t-shirt, pair it with one of these ruffled skirts and you’ll fit right in. While many get theirs from The Pants Store, we’ve also heard plenty of OOTD videos featuring skirts and skorts from lululemon and Lilly Pulitzer alike.

5. Statement earrings by Shein

No matter the busy day, your earrings should be as big as possible, with feathers, rhinestones and glitter for days. Shein is where many find the perfect couple, with options for all of the above. We love these tassel teardrop earrings that come in every color or this geometric pair we swear we’ve seen all over #rushtok.

6. Wedge heels

If you have to wear heels to dozens of homes and activities all day long, at least make sure they’re as comfortable as possible. Because of this, we noticed that many prospective members wore wedges to be in a hurry, with Steve Madden being the most frequently mentioned name in their outfit videos.
