Results of Day 5 of the 2022 CrossFit Games – The champs are here to stay

The 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin has come to an end with the same winners on the podium as last year’s competition. Men’s overall winner Justin Medeiros became the third man in history to win consecutive games (alongside Rich Froning and Mat Fraser).

Australian athlete Tia-Clair Toomey claimed her sixth straight game titlebecoming the most successful individual competitor in the history of the CrossFit Games. However, the star of the fifth day in the individual disciplines was Laura Horvath.

Outstanding performances in all three events of the day catapulted Horvath to third place on the overall podium, behind Toomey and runner-up Mal O’Brien. Check out the full results from day five below:

Individual Competition 11 Results – The Alpaca

In the first event on the final day of competition in Madison, Roman Khrennikov cemented his place as the second fittest man alive®. In rainy conditions that forced organizers to remove the climbing ropes from the event for safety reasons, Khrennikov crossed the finish line first, putting enough distance between himself and Ricky Garard with two events to go.

Horvath also built the momentum she needed with a huge win in the first event of the final day. She smoked the field with a 40 second lead at The Alpaca to grab a win.

Single Event 12 Results – Back Nine

Horvath went two-for-two on the final day and picked up another big win in Event 12, lifting the heaviest yoke and deadlift ever programmed at the CrossFit Games. Heavy equipment master Jeffrey Adler also made the event fast.

A second-place finish for Toomey in the back nine had effectively cemented her as the overall winner, even in one remaining event. O’Brien was too far behind Toomey to claim first place overall, but too far ahead of the rest of the field for her silver medal position to be threatened.

He finished third overall to retain his Games title, despite not winning any of the 13 events at the 2022 Games. Adler clinched his second straight event win and finished fifth overall.

Campbell picked up her second event win in her game debut over the weekend – a great achievement as she finished 16th overall. Toomey finished 10th, cementing her place in CrossFit history.
