Joplin Department of Health Food Inspections (8 Aug) | local news

The Joplin Globe publishes summaries of routine and follow-up inspections conducted by the Joplin Public Health Department. Businesses that are inspected pass or fail because of violations found during the inspection. These violations fall into two categories:

• Priority violations are more serious and concern improper food handling, storage and preparation. The Globe lists the number and summary of each violation.

• Core violations are less serious and affect equipment, maintenance and general cleanliness. The Globe only publishes the figure.

A failed inspection can lead to a wide range of corrections, depending on the type of violations found. Complete copies of each report are available from the Joplin Health Department.
