In this international cycling marathon series, BNI is pushing the brand activation of its three products: BNI Direct, Mobile Banking and Xpora. They will facilitate customers’ experiences in retail, business and international transactions.

Growth has accelerated in the business and tourism sectors. Step by step, sectors affected by COVID-19 are slowly showing signs of recovery and expansion as public consumption and mobility increase.

The Gran Fondo New York (GNFY) Bali 2022 returns to Gianyar, Bali for the fourth time. The event is expected to be another driving force for revitalizing the tourism industry.

The international racing bike event was held seven times. The GNFY was held in Lombok in 2016 and 2017, in Samosir in 2018 and most recently in Bali in 2020 before the pandemic hit Indonesia. It is a cycling marathon series held in 19 countries with over 30,000 participants registering for regional races ahead of the World Championships in New York, USA.

GNFY Indonesia is part of the GNFY World Series, which has been running since 2016. The number of racers from Indonesia and abroad increased from 700 to 1,700 annually. This year, Indonesia was chosen to host the Asian Championship.

On August 7th in Gianyar, Bali, 2,000 local and international racers will compete for a place at the 2023 World Championship in New York.

Chairman of GNY Indonesia Tenne Permata Sari expressed hope that this international championship will boost the national economy. In addition, there will be attendees from across Indonesia and other countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, the UK, France, Italy and the US.

The economic impact will affect diverse industries, from hospitality to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), including souvenir shops, restaurants and more.

“We have great hope that GNFY Bali Element Camp 2022 will help stimulate the tourism sector where we will network, share, learn and support each other while helping to accelerate Indonesia’s tourism sector. We appreciate the support and cooperation from central and local governments, as well as other organizations and especially businesses,” said Tenne.

GNFY Bali is divided into long (137 km) and medium (102 km) routes that cover beaches and mountain areas. Also, from August 5th to 7th, Gianyar hosted a Bike Expo with booths from various industries with camping as the main theme. The expo will be partnered with BNI (banking partner), Vision+ (media partner), Aladin Travel (travel partner) and sponsored by Geliga, Santika Hotel Group and Garuda Indonesia.

This event was made possible under strict protocols with support from the central government and related organizations.

BNI Services and Network Director Ronny Venir said the event fits perfectly with BNI’s Go Productive spirit of boosting the national economy.

The company is confident that GNFY Bali 2022 will inspire various other economic activities and accelerate the growth of various sectors from creative industries to MSME segment.

“We thank the committee behind GNFY Bali 2022 for their hard work and dedication to make this event a reality. We hope it will push us all to improve the positive economic trend,” he said.

He further explained that GNFY 2022 attendees will have various payment channels available to purchase goods, including BNI credit or debit cards, Tap Cash, QRIS and mobile banking. BNI will also showcase brand activation for three products: Mobile Banking, BNI Direct and Xpora.

“Indeed, we are currently pushing MSMEs to go global with BNI Xpora, in line with the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SEO)’s mandate to BNI as a banking partner for Indonesian MSMEs to help market their products on the global stage,” explained Ronny.
