Big BLUEgrass benefit concert at Sugar Pine Point State Park

The Sierra State Park Foundation is hosting a bluegrass concert at Sugar Pine Point State Park on Friday, August 5 at 5 p.m. with proceeds going to support Tahoe State Parks.

General admission tickets are $35 and youth tickets are available for $10. Parking is $10 and is not included with ticket purchase.

The evening’s lineup includes Truckee School of Music, Loretta Lynch, Broken Compass Bluegrass and Coburn Station.

Food vendors at the event will also include Big Blue Q and Hand Dipped Ice Cream, with beer sponsored by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and wine provided by Highway 7.

Doors to the event open at 4:00 p.m. and the music plays until nightfall. Ticket sales end on Thursday evening.

Live music series at The Village at Palisades

2nd Annual Mountain Lotus Bazaar

Enjoy a day of fun at the Mountain Lotus Summer Bazaar in Truckee at 10124 E Street on Saturday, August 6 from 12:00pm to 9:00pm.

From 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local spa providers and vendors of handicrafts. From 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., special guest speaker Adam Kimble will give a talk on Peak Performance: Achieving your Impossible.

Saturday Maker’s Market in Kings Beach

Tahoe Backyard will be hosting the Saturday Maker’s Market on Saturday, August 6 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for an afternoon bringing together local vendors, makers, artists and more.

Food trucks and entertainment are also available, with Bear Belly Brewing Co. drinks also for sale. With garden games and family-friendly fun, this is an event not to be missed.

Youth backcountry camp naturalist

The Tahoe Rim Trail is hosting another backcountry camping trip for youth ages 12-14 Wednesday through Sunday, August 10-13.

The trip allows the youth to make new friends while learning new backcountry skills while backpacking between three and six miles in a day.

The fee is tiered and offers several different payment options as well as scholarship options.

The fee includes food, camping gear, any necessary permits, and transportation to and from trailheads. Participants only need to bring shoes, clothes and excitement to go outside.

Yoga Sound Healing Wellness Kids Camp

Kids looking for mindful fun can join the GyoHarmony Sound and Healing Arts Center for the Yoga Sound Healing Wellness Kids Camp.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, August 8, children can participate in mindful activities and meditations, along with an exploration around Donner Lake.

After the hike, snacks and lunch will be served, leading into a music session and sound bath.

Truckee Certified Farmers Market

From 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, the Truckee Certified Farmers Market will be held at Truckee River Regional Park.

The market includes multiple vendors and is free to the public.

Northstar Bocce Nights

Northstar is hosting Bocce Ball Nights Monday through September 5 at 5:00 p.m., open for league players or guests to enjoy a free game featuring acoustic artists.

Additionally, the Overlook Bar is open, and guests are welcome to bring their own food and enjoy the evening at the resort.

Registrations for the league have ended, but games will continue to be held in the evenings and acoustic sets will continue to be played.

Blues Days at Palisades Tahoe

The Village at Palisades Tahoe welcomes the return of Bluesdays, the free summer concert series showcasing top blues musicians Tuesday through August 30 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm.

The event at Events Plaza is packed with artists including JC Smith this Tuesday 9th August.

In addition, an outdoor blues bar will be open serving beer, wine and spirits. Take away food will be available in the village restaurants.

There is limited seating and guests are asked to bring their own chairs if available.
