The University of North Carolina Department of Athletics and INFLCR have teamed up again to create the Carolina NIL Exchange, an online marketplace connecting Tar Heel student-athletes with local, national, and global companies participating in a name partnership , pictures and possibilities of similarity are interested.
UNC will kick off its NIL Exchange program on Monday, August 22 with an in-person, two-hour reception where representatives from companies interested in creating NIL opportunities will meet and meet directly with Tar Heel’s student-athletes will speak.
Available to all 28 sports at UNC and more than 800 student-athletes, the Carolina NIL Exchange is the latest addition to Carolina’s comprehensive, world-class NIL program that provides industry-leading resources and expert training to help student-athletes improve their brand and maximize opportunity and value.
“We are excited to expand our partnership with INFLCR to include the Carolina NIL Exchange as it allows us to help our student-athletes expand their NIL opportunities,” said Carolina Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham. “Making connections is key to finding these opportunities, and having a centralized marketplace where student athletes can connect directly with companies is key. This is another outstanding addition to our extensive NIL program.”
All Tar Heel student-athletes automatically have access to the exchange. Companies registering with the exchange can message student-athletes through the application or request a student-athlete’s (or representative’s) contact information to start a discussion about specific NIL opportunities. Neither Carolina Athletics nor INFLCR will be involved in the negotiations.
NIL activities may include signing autographs, promoting brands on social media, supporting third party media, conducting camps or clinics, providing private physical education classes, personal appearances and more.
The NIL Exchange Program will also create forms to report NIL transactions to Carolina Athletics for NCAA compliance, as well as other forms to assist student-athletes with tax filing.
